Wake Technical Community College (Wake Tech) is a recognized leader in providing accessible, high-quality education that prepares students for real-world challenges. As part of its ongoing commitment to the success of both students and the community, Wake Tech launched the Pathfinders Program. This program is designed to connect students with hands-on, real-world work opportunities while allowing them to earn professional certificates that can help kick-start their careers.
To highlight the impact of the Pathfinders Program and emphasize the importance of continued support for Wake Tech’s mission, the college needed to showcase this initiative during its annual Ignite Event. The Ignite Event serves as a key gathering for the college’s sponsors and donors, with the goal of reinforcing the significance of their contributions in advancing the growth of the college and its students.
TSEC was tasked with producing the opening video and custom logo stinger for the Ignite Event. Collaborating closely with the DRPG film and graphics team, we created a dynamic, custom logo stinger that incorporated the Ignite Event’s torch icon. The stinger also aligned with the event branding and theme, which revolved around exploration and finding one’s path forward.
To visually represent this theme, we chose a stylized map reminiscent of the 1500s, evoking the exploration era of figures like Sir Francis Drake and Christopher Columbus. This helped tie the theme of “exploration” to the Pathfinders Program.

- Animation: 3D animation in Cinema 4D
- Sound Design: Custom sound design
- Post-production: Compositing in After Effects of live video plates
The result was an engaging and visually compelling opening that captured the essence of the Ignite event and set the tone for a memorable experience.
